Share Your Dream

It is up to citizens to tell Congress to not default on the American Dream. We want to show our elected representatives what’s at stake in their irresponsible game of chicken around the budget and debt negotiations. Tell us what your American Dream is. We’ll create a word cloud that shows what we all stand to lose if the U.S. doesn’t live up to its obligations, to itself and to us. Leave a comment below about your dream.

Ideas: buy a home; own my own business; send my kids to college; travel and explore this country; pay off student loans; break the cycle of poverty; make a better life; build communities of hope. Check back frequently to watch the word cloud take shape.

  1. To know that, should I become ill, my Medicare will be there

  2. To know that when I choose to retire I will still be able to live the life I currently have and not to live in poverty.

  3. To have the fair share include those subsidies to companies who have gotten wealthy with taxpayer dollars fess up and give up those subsidies. I also dream of the day when manufacturing again becomes the pride of the USA!

  4. To see an America where more policy decisions (especially the larger ones) are made based on logic, objective analysis and facts rather than emotion and political advantage.
