Kudos, Gov. Snyder
Gov. Rick Snyder’s second State of the State address last night had a few pleasant surprises.
After a somewhat divisive report on tax reform, fitness and jobs, one statement at the end of the governor’s speech was applauded by both sides of the isle. Snyder’s call to address some of the state’s most needed ethics reform was a refreshing contrast to politics as usual. “We should have stronger rules for state officials who negotiate contracts while in government service” he said.
The governor also touched the need for tighter ethics laws in campaign finance and lobbying. It’s up to the good-government community to keep Gov. Snyder on the right track— let’s hold the revolving door in politics and clean up our elections to preserve democracy Michigan!
