Join Big Sky Country’s Big Stand Against Big Money
The U.S. Supreme Court today decided to tussle with Montana. I think we can all guess what’s going to happen now.
SCOTUS has blocked a Montana court ruling upholding limits on corporate campaign spending. The state court ruling appears to be at odds with the high court’s 2010 decision striking down a federal ban on those campaign expenditures.
The justices on Friday put the Montana ruling on hold while they consider an appeal from corporations seeking to be free of spending limits. The state argues, and the Montana Supreme Court agreed, that political corruption gave rise to the century-old ban on independent corporate campaign spending. (Washington Post via AP)
Recap: SCOTUS said corporations are people. Montana affirmed its century-old ban and said “Are not.” SCOTUS has now stuck it’s tongue out and said, “ARE TOO!” and blocked Montana from using the decision of its state Supreme Court to make law in the state.
If, like me, you are somewhere between self righteous indignation and increasing fear for the state of our democracy, take two minutes to go to our Amend 2012 website and SIGN THE PETITION that rejects SCOTUS’ inane corporate personhood concept. I’m pretty sure you’ll hear from us very soon on a plan to stand with Montana.

Take back the country to only include human beings, not corporations.
CORPORATIONS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BUY OUR COUNTRY. Foreign countries could then control WE THE PEOPLE AND THIS WOULD DESTROY THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE’S VOTE (
