Halliburton Audits

U.S. to audit Halliburton: According to CNN: "Washington has agreed to commission a special audit of sole-source Pentagon contracts granted to Halliburton Co. and paid for with Iraqi oil money..." The U.N.-created International Advisory and Monitoring Board recently completed an audit of U.S. reconstruction spending during Paul Bremer's last six months in Iraq, and like previous audits, the results aren't pretty. Part of the fallout is this agreement to look into Halliburton's contracts. It may be time for a special committee to review all contract spending, instead of these ad hoc investigations... What do you think?

Sanchez

How about something on Ricardo Sanchez saying the Army can't get enough spare parts or get them in a reasonable time. Bush keeps saying he is doing everything he can for the troops but everytime you hear something it is bad and has abviously been swept under the rug until someone leaks it to the press. This war is a disaster for a lot of reasons but mainly because it is killing our military. We have hurt ourselves by sticking our troops over their and now they are stuck and can't even get the supplies they need to fight. Ugh.

Re: Sanchez

Just FYI for other readers, Sanchez is Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez. He has been the commanding officer in Iraq. MB, in response, I would agree that it is outrageous how U.S. troops cannot get the supplies they need. I would speculate it is one result of the administration's deluded notion that we would not face this kind of ongoing violence after the war.

Re: pulling the plug on Sinclair

Rubens, Thank you so much for the effort for contacting Circuit City and all the other local Sinclair advertisers in your area. You probably meant to post your response in this thread here. No worries though. Keep up the pressure and thanks so much again for your effort.
