Bad move for Common Cause

I just had to comment that, although i realize that CC Conneticut wants to get the message out about Clean elections and what we are doing; having the executive director or any other CC staff member for that matter, going on Al Franken's show, will give the members of CC the idea that CC is a Liberal propaganda organization and not nonpartisan. If Andy Sauer chooses to go on a Left-wing show like  Franken's then he needs to go on a Right-wing show like  Savage's or Limbaughs.  I believe going on Franken's show will cause many CC members to not support the Clean Elections. This is a very bad move.

Re: Bad move for Common Cause

CC has a press office that talks to anyone who calls. If Savage and Limbaugh had the guts to call, we would send representatives over. Chellie's been on Fox News for crying out loud! The question may be whether Savage, Limbaugh and their ilk actually want a reasonable, well-thought-out discussion, or whether they want to stick to their diatribe mentality.

I'm a believer that any press is good press. If Andy can talk to folks who would support this issue, that's certainly not a waste of time. We're not going to turn down publicity because something's too "liberal" the same way we wouldn't turn it down if it were too "conservative." We're going to win in Connecticut and this is how.

Al Franken

I was DELIGHTED to hear about Connecticut on Air America!

Who cares where the truth is spoken?

Having attended the gathering in Hartford, where a handful of people carried the cross for the whole state, I am heartened by any ripples of our voice heard by anyone anywhere any time.  Keep talking, Andy.

Encouraged in New Haven,

Margaret Sawyer
