Hello all, this is DJ again. I know there's a lot of stuff breaking with Tom DeLay's ethics issues, but I wanted quickly come on here to tell you about a recent trip I took to North Carolina for Common Cause. I wanted to let you know about my visit with Bob Phillips, Marc Siegel, and Warren Murphy in our North Carolina office.
CC/NC is a very busy office, but we've certainly got the right folks here for the job. Election reform and lobbying reform are quickly heating up in the state, so I came down to help train them on our communications strategies, and how to send out CauseNets and update their webpages.
We worked on Wednesday and Thursday, taking them a step closer to independence with their internet work. Marc is working with the North Carolina lobbying reform coalition and we're going to help spice things up a bit by adding an action center that will let their members directly contact their state legislators, a specific donation page for their project, and an online petition form in support of lobbying reform in North Carolina.
In addition to lobbying reform, CC/NC is very busy with election reform. Watch their website in the coming days for updates. Bob and co. are in the midst of the legislative session, and they have a lot in the hopper.
It was a great couple of days in the North Carolina office. I feel like we made a lot of headway, the guys are great to work with, and I didn't think about snow the whole time I was down here. Expect great things from CC/NC!
