UPDATED (w/ video & transcript): Bill Moyer's Speech in St. Louis

Hat tip to blogger Hummingbird from kos.

Apparently Bill Moyers delivered a "stunning" keynote speech at the National Conference for Media Reform today in St. Louis:

One thing he said that drew thunderous applause was when he remarked on his detractors that are still criticizing him even though he's retired, that they might be motivating him to "get out of my rocking chair, and back into the anchor chair".

Check out the speech by clicking here.

Update (5/16):  You can now download the video of the Moyer speech (from our friends at Free Press).

Update II (5/16): A RUSH transcript of the Moyer speech is now available via DemocracyNow.

Bill Moyer's speech related to NPR & PBS

I was fortunate to have seen Mr. Moyer's speech on Monday evening on C-Span 2.  Really terrific and I've never seen him so fired up.  Also for good reason.  I really miss the one hour  NOW on PBS and am truly worried that in-depth reports based on real facts and honest reporting will get short shrift on PBS.  I do watch Charlie Rose and he has good in-depth interviews, but I worry that Mr. Tomlinson will start putting pressure on good reporting.
