This message was sent in reply to one of our recent Causenets. It speaks for itself:
I have not been a member of Common Cause since my days as an officer and pilot in the USAF. It was the days of 'Nixon' and I was seriously afraid for my country. Opposed to the Viet Nam War, a war which I was physically a part, I joined Common Cause as a vote for truth. At some point along the way, I let my membership lapse. Now at the age of 60, I again feel fear for my country. While age and experience have taught me a lot; that the nature of things go up and down; that fear is usually not called for; this time I am genuinely afraid that our country is being commandeered by the likes of a bunch that puts the history of the Nixon Era to shame. Again, a spineless Congress refuses to do its duty, many citizens look the other way and a press falls on its sword and leaks its life blood only to stain its honor. I am angry and anger without action leads only to rage. Again, I would like to join Common Cause. The amount I can afford will not pay many bills; but added to the other 300,000 members, I hope it will help work for truth. Please send me a form in the mail to the following address so that I can once again add my name to your list.
