Op-Ed on PA lobby reform bill

Common Cause Pennsylvania State Chair Sara Steelman has an editorial in today's Philadelphia Inquirer on the lobby reform bill that is being held up in the PA House of Representatives by Speaker John Perzel.

She has strong words for Pennsylvania's opponents of reform:

Senate Bill 1 should be placed on the House calendar, brought to the floor, debated, perhaps amended, and voted up or down. Pennsylvanians deserve the protections against political corruption offered to residents of every other state in the union, all of which have laws regulating the activities of lobbyists to protect government from undue influence and to give citizens the information they need to hold power accountable. It is time to give our citizens the basic government-integrity tools citizens elsewhere take for granted.
