Common Cause Pennsylvania takes government pay raise issue to court

There's something big going on in Pennsylvania right now, but it hasn't gotten any real exposure on this blog yet, mainly because it's a legal issue filled with technical terminology and centering on specific points of law.

What issue might this be?  Oh, just the fact that last summer government officials enacted a pay raise for all senior state officials, including judges, which Common Cause/Pennsylvania says violates the law.  CC/PA goes to court on May 19 to argue whether or not their case should be heard by the federal courts, since the state courts are directly impacted by the lawsuit.

For more information, visit the Common Cause/Pennsylvania website.  There you can also find a useful breakdown of the facts and evidence involved with this issue.
