North Carolina Senate considering ethics reform bills

The North Carolina House has been busy lately passing reform legislation -- now it's the State Senate's turn.  This week Senators will consider ethics legislation.  Though there is concern that the Legislature will not have time to pass all the reform legislation before them, Democrats -- who control both chambers -- appear committed to enacting the measures.  And if they're not...

"I think it'd be a big mistake if the Senate didn't pass our (chamber's) ethics bills. They would have to suffer the repercussions from the general public out here," said House Minority Whip Mitch Gillespie, R-McDowell. "Otherwise all that the (Democratic-controlled) House has done is a dog-and-pony show."

Very well said.  Let's hope they all listen.
