Alberto Gonzalez's Resignation

The news of Gonzalez's resignation is wonderful and will keep the mainstream media buzzing for a week.  The talking heads will debate endlessly about his unstated reason and, once again, what's happening in Iraq will be short-shifted.

The most pressing issue this country faces is the amoral Iraq War and it will be drowned out by the media's buzz regarding one more of Bush's inept and deceitful old pals hitting the highway.

Meanwhile,The Arizona Star reported this morning that many of our soldiers are coming home from Iraq with cancer caused by the "depleted uranium" that turns into fine dust when munitions are exploded and inhaled by our troops.  (Deje vu Agent Orange Vietnam.)

I can't help but wonder if Gonzalez's resignation is yet another well-timed diversion.  To be followed by weeks of wrangling in Congress over approval of whatever idiot Emperor Bush appoints to replace him.

Chertoff to be next Attorney General?

Chertoff is Gonzales in spades.

If the Democratically controlled Senate Judiciary Committee allows this man to become Attorney General we can just stick the fork in the United States Constitution.  It will most certainly be done.

This is a man who cheers for the U.S. Patriot Act, who supports torture (up until the point of near death), renditions of human beings to foreign countries that torture, spying on the American People, the use of RFID chips in every citizen, forced immunizations, no habeus corpus, American citizens being arrested, imprisoned without charges and with no attorney indefinitely and with all of one's assets seized if you do not support the U.S. policies in Iraq (just ask Hillary Clinton about this P.D.) and on and on.

He believes our war against and occupation of Iraq is LEGAL when everyone with a brain knows it was an international crime from day one that continues to this day.  We are contaminating the entire planet (including Hawaii!!!) with depleted uranium.  Does anyone honestly think the Democrats will have the guts to ask this guy the truly pertinent questions that must be asked?!

The irony of 9/11 is that Bush said Al Quida attacked us because they don't like that we are free.  Then the Bush administration, with acquiecence from the Democrats, quickly took away all our freedoms with the Patriot Act!!

I will weep at the sight of Sen. Kennedy, Sen. Leahy, Sen. Feinstein, Sen. Feingold and other Democrats "sweetly" questioning Chertoff at his confirmation hearing through their zippered shut mouths.  Especially when they vote to move him along to the full Senate for the final coup de grace.

This man has dual Israeli/American citizenship and is a strong supporter of AIPAC, the Jewish Lobby that SHOULD have to register as a foreign agent for all the legislative meddling they do in our country.

As Ariel Sharon is reported to have said, "We own the United States.  They do as we tell them to do."  (Google it)

God help the American People if Chertoff becomes the next Attorney General.

It's too bad Common Cause will quickly have yet another un-Constitutional fire to put out.  Good luck.
