Kirk Clay is director of the Electoral College Reform Project, which seeks to bring about nationwide popular election of the U.S. President through organizing, voter education and advocacy. Kirk is responsible for developing and overseeing the project. His responsibilities include helping Common Cause develop a strategic plan for Electoral College reform and supervising a team of national staff during its implementation. Kirk joined Common Cause in 2005. Prior to that, he was deputy director of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, where he managed the day-to day overall operation. Before working for NCBCP, Kirk was a deputy director of People For the American Way's field department. He developed the African American Ministers Leadership Council, a national network of clergy and sits on the board of directors for Tavis Smiley Y2L.
